CBI Books Eight Over Alleged Fake Marksheets In GDS Hiring
The CBI is investigating eight people who allegedly used fake Class 10 marksheets to get postal jobs.
These jobs are called Gramin Dak Sevak, or GDS, positions.
Selection for these jobs is based on Class 10 marks.
The candidates allegedly showed higher marks than they really had.
They joined the jobs and received salaries and allowances.
Later, the Department of Posts checked their certificates with education boards.
The checks reportedly showed that the certificates were fake or had never been issued.
All eight employees lost their jobs.
The CBI also searched eight places and is checking more than 30 other possible cases.
The CBI registered an FIR against eight people accused of using forged Class 10 marksheets to obtain GDS jobs.
Searches were conducted at eight locations across Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused allegedly inflated their marks during GDS recruitment cycles held in January 2023 and July 2024.
The Department of Posts terminated all eight employees after re-verification found the certificates forged or unissued by the relevant boards.
The CBI is examining more than 30 other suspected appointments and possible involvement of public servants or educational officials.
