India sent a large shipment of diesel to Bangladesh through a special pipeline.

The shipment contained nearly 4,000 metric tonnes, equal to 47 lakh litres.

It arrived at a fuel terminal in Parbatipur, Dinajpur.

The delivery was the pipeline’s 72nd shipment.

The transfer took place from September 13 to September 15.

Bangladesh uses these imports to help meet rising fuel demand.

Since the pipeline opened in March 2023, it has carried 330,087 tonnes of diesel to Bangladesh.

The two countries agreed in 2018 that Bangladesh would import about 2 million tonnes over 15 years.

India also supplied diesel to Bangladesh earlier this year during a supply crisis.
