Bhopal Deploys 174 Divers Across Seven Ghats For Ganesh Immersion
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation is preparing for Ganesh idol immersion.
It has sent 174 divers to seven places where idols will be immersed.
Divers and police personnel will work in shifts to help keep people safe.
These safety plans follow a tragedy at Khatlapura Ghat in 2019.
More than 30,000 idols were immersed in Bhopal during 15 hours last year.
The city also collected flowers and other materials from the ceremonies for recycling and reuse.
Idol immersion is not allowed in Bhopal’s Upper and Lower Lakes.
Traffic will be redirected while the Dol Gyaras procession moves through the city.

The preparations follow the 2019 Khatlapura Ghat tragedy, in which around eight devotees died.

Traffic diversions will operate during Tuesday’s Dol Gyaras procession, depending on its movement.
