Hyderabad Team Arrests Pan Shop Owners Selling Tobacco To Minors
A special team found a shop allegedly selling cigarettes and tobacco to children.
Two children were taken into custody while buying cigarettes.
The team also arrested the two people running the shop.
The shop was called Nimra Pan Mahal in Old Bowenpally.
Officials said they watched the shop for two weeks.
They visited secretly 22 times and said tobacco was sold each time.
Cigarettes and other tobacco products worth about Rs 60,000 were seized.
Police registered cases under laws that prohibit tobacco sales to children and protect minors.
TG-EAGLE Force detained two minors and arrested two pan shop owners in Old Bowenpally on Sunday.
The owners, Yusuf Uddin Goury and MD Rehan Ali, allegedly sold cigarettes and tobacco to minors at Nimra Pan Mahal.
Officials said surveillance was increased over the owners during the previous two weeks.
The team conducted 22 undercover visits and reported finding tobacco products sold on every occasion.
Cigarettes and tobacco products worth about Rs 60,000 were seized, and cases were registered under two laws.
