Vivek Saxena was a military officer who died fighting terrorists in Manipur in 2003.

His family was promised land and a memorial by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Many years later, his 80-year-old mother, Savitri, said the promises had still not been fulfilled.

Officials were asking her to submit more papers, including proof of domicile.

She became upset and took her son’s Shaurya Chakra medal to a grievance camp.

She reportedly offered to return the medal because she felt ignored.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar heard about her problem and offered help through his foundation, Flags of Honour.

He said supporting families of fallen service members is a duty.
