Parliament Monsoon Session Heads for Washout Amid Protests

The Indian Parliament holds meetings called sessions, and the latest one is called the Monsoon Session.

On its very last day, the leaders were busy protesting instead of doing their work.

Two big groups were arguing: the ruling party, the BJP, and the opposition parties, who are together in a group called INDIA.

The two groups held loud counter-protests on the steps inside the Parliament building.

The BJP said the opposition's Congress party was not paying enough attention to protests taking place in Jharkhand.

The opposition carried a toy monkey and shouted slogans against the government.

They said the government was not listening to their concerns and never explained who ordered the pellet gun firing.

The government's ministers said the opposition, especially Rahul Gandhi, was stopping Parliament from working.

Both sides refused to give in, so the session is likely to end without finishing much of its work.
