UGC-NET Results Announced; Three Papers Set for Re-Examination
The UGC-NET is an exam for people who want to teach or do research at Indian colleges and universities.
The National Testing Agency announced results for 84 subjects.
More than 607,000 people took those exams.
Some candidates qualified for research fellowships, teaching eligibility or PhD admission.
The English, Commerce and Sociology papers had several reported errors.
An expert committee identified factual, typing, translation and language problems.
Because of these errors, those three papers will be held again on September 9 and 10, 2026.
Students will not have to pay another exam fee.

Of 607,151 candidates who appeared, 4,241 qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor eligibility.
Another 45,904 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor and PhD admission, while 97,434 qualified for PhD admission only.
English, Commerce and Sociology papers will be conducted again on September 9 and 10.
Candidates taking the re-examinations will not pay an additional fee, and their results will follow the fresh tests.
