In the first half of 2026, people in Mumbai bought a record number of very expensive homes.

The total value of these luxury home sales was Rs 18,512 crore, which is a huge amount of money.

Altogether, 957 luxury homes were sold, which is 26 percent more than in the same period last year.

That is also 71 percent more than two years earlier, showing how much the market has grown.

Over the past year, almost 1,700 luxury homes were sold in the city.

Most of the growth came from homes priced between Rs 20 crore and Rs 40 crore.

Sales in that price range more than doubled from 66 homes to 156 homes.

Only 41 homes priced above Rs 40 crore were sold during the period.

A report says the growth may slow down a little, but experts still believe Mumbai's luxury housing market is one of India's most resilient.
