Four Arrested in Hipparagi XUV Blast Over Land Dispute
Some people wanted to hurt a man because they were fighting with him over money and a farm.
They put a bomb near his car in a place called Hipparagi.
The bomb went off at night and damaged the car, but the man was safe because he was not in the car yet.
Police acted like detectives and worked hard to find out who did it.
They looked at camera recordings, phone records, and where the bomb materials came from.
They arrested four people for the attack.
One more person who helped get the bomb materials is still being searched for.
The fight started because a family borrowed money and could not pay it back, so a piece of farmland was involved.
The people who planned the attack also sent scary messages later, but that helped police catch them.
Now the case is cracked and the accused are in custody.
Bagalkot district police arrested four persons in the Hipparagi XUV blast case, allegedly plotted over a land and financial dispute.
The explosive device went off around 10.45 pm on July 25 near the XUV of bar owner Hanamant Athani, who escaped because he had not yet boarded the vehicle.
Police said the dispute stemmed from a Rs 40 lakh loan taken by Shivanand's paternal uncle from Hanamant, which grew to Rs 67 lakh with about four acres of agricultural land kept as security.
Shivanand allegedly planned the attack using blasting knowledge from his absconding cousin Gajanan Sangapur, with explosives procured from shops in Athani and Vijayapura.
After learning Hanamant survived, the accused sent threatening SMS and WhatsApp messages to him and his brother Basavaraj on August 6, which helped investigators trace them.
