Some areas, like Papum Pare and Kurung Kumey in Arunachal Pradesh, will get the most rain.
The weather office has issued different alerts: Red Alert for very heavy rain, Orange Alert for heavy rain, and Yellow Alert for less heavy rain.
The rain could cause floods, landslides, and problems with roads.
People are advised to be careful, avoid traveling during heavy rain, and follow the instructions from local authorities.
The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC), Guwahati, has forecast widespread rain across the Northeast over the next four days.
Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to witness widespread rainfall on July 17 and 18.
Papum Pare and Kurung Kumey districts in Arunachal Pradesh are under a Red Alert for extremely heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
The weather office has warned of potential hazards including flash floods, landslides, mudslides, overflowing streams, waterlogging, falling trees, and disruption of road connectivity.
Residents are advised to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall, keep away from landslide-prone slopes and swollen rivers, and follow advisories issued by local authorities and disaster management agencies.
