Bhopal BMC Crackdown: 109 Commercial Establishments Shut In A Day, 7 Properties Sealed · freepressjournal.in

Bhopal’s city government is checking businesses that operate in places meant mainly for homes.

On Monday, 109 businesses stopped operating.

Of these, 102 closed by themselves and seven were sealed by officials.

Two of the sealed places were marriage gardens.

The city had already sent thousands of notices and gave many businesses a final 24-hour warning.

Some traders protested because they wanted more time or believed the action was unfair.

Residents also said that smaller businesses were being targeted while bigger ones were spared.

Officials said the drive follows court directions and will continue.
