AAP flags price gap in Delhi government bicycle procurement

The Delhi government bought bicycles to give to schoolgirls.

A political party called the AAP says the government paid too much money for them.

AAP says it bought a very similar bicycle from a shop for much less money.

It showed both bicycles to reporters to point out the difference.

AAP also says the government bicycles have cheaper parts, like plastic handles and simpler tyres.

AAP says the bicycles should have had better features like gears but did not.

Another company said it could also supply the bicycles more cheaply.

AAP wants the government to explain why it paid so much.

The government says it used a proper online buying system.

Nobody has proven yet whether the AAP is right or wrong.
