23-Year-Old Gets 20-Year Jail Term for Assaulting Minor in Indore
A court in Indore, a city in India, made an important decision to keep a child safe.
A grown man hurt a young girl who was younger than 16, and the court said he must go to jail for 20 years.

He was convicted under Section 3/4(2) of the POCSO Act and Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and fined a total of Rs 12,500.
The court recommended Rs 6 lakh compensation for the victim, who reported the assault after returning home the morning after she left on Oct 29, 2024.
In a separate case, 60-year-old home tutor Nitin Sapre was sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 16,000 for molesting a 14-year-old girl during a tuition session.
