A court in Kakinada sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

The prosecution said he gained her trust by promising to marry her.

The court found the man guilty under the POCSO law, which protects children from sexual offences.

He was also convicted of kidnapping.

He must pay fines under both laws.

The larger sentence and the kidnapping sentence will be served at the same time.
