Gold, Undeclared Goods Seized from Couple at Ahmedabad Airport

When people travel to another country on an airplane, they have to tell the airport workers what they are bringing with them.

This is called declaring your things.

A couple flew from a place called Sharjah to the city of Ahmedabad in India.

They did not tell the customs officers about the gold jewellery they were carrying.

Customs officers are the people who check what comes into a country.

The officers had a special tip based on watching how passengers behave, which is called passenger profiling.

They stopped the couple and found gold jewellery and other things that were not declared.

The items were worth about Rs 32.37 lakh, which is a very big amount of money.

The officers took the items away because bringing them into the country without telling is against the rules.
