DRI Busts ₹1.44 Crore Gold Smuggling Racket at Indore Airport

Smuggling is when people secretly bring things into a country without permission.

Some people tried to bring gold into India from Abu Dhabi without paying the required taxes.

They hid the gold by covering it with silver so it looked like bracelets.

The gold weighed more than one kilogram and was worth a lot of money.

The smugglers had a plan that involved an airplane worker.

The worker took the gold from passengers before they entered the Customs arrival area.

Then the worker walked onto the runway to avoid the security and customs checks.

The worker passed the gold to other people waiting outside the airport.

But police officers from a special group called the DRI were watching and caught them.

They arrested five people involved in the smuggling racket.
