Hyderabad is hosting a special training programme for police and security dogs and the people who work with them.

The programme is called the RRU K9 Masterclass 2026.

It is being held at Commando Kennels in Kompally for five days, ending on 8 September.

People from several Indian police, security and disaster-response organisations are attending.

They include dog handlers, commanders and veterinary officers.

The dogs may be trained to find explosives or drugs, track people, rescue victims and help with security.

The participants are sharing their experiences and learning new ways to work together.

The organisers say strong training helps make K9 units more effective across India.
