Maharashtra city's Smart Sarathi app lets residents report potholes

In a city in India called Pimpri-Chinchwad, many roads are full of holes called potholes.

Cars and bikes can be damaged when they drive over them.

The city government wants everyone to help find these potholes.

So they made a phone app called Smart Sarathi.

When somebody sees a pothole, they can open the app.

They take a photo of the pothole and send it.

They can also add where it is and how big it is.

Then city workers go to check the pothole.

If it is a real problem, they fix it.

That way, people can help make their city's roads better.
