Yellow Alert Warns of Heavy Rain Across Several Indian Regions

India’s weather office has warned that many places may receive heavy rain.

A yellow alert means people should stay aware and take care during the bad weather.

Assam, Delhi, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Sikkim are among the areas mentioned.

Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds may also affect parts of southern and central India.

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry could see winds of 40–50 kilometers per hour during storms.

Some parts of the Arabian Sea may have even stronger, squally winds.

Rain is expected to continue in several regions from September 7 to 11.

Uttarakhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand could receive heavy rain during parts of this period.

Northeastern states are also expected to remain wet.
