Annual Bonalu Celebrations Draw Devotees to Kazipet’s Bapujinagar
People in Bapujinagar celebrated the Bonalu festival for Pochamma Thalli.
The celebration took place on Sunday night.
This was the 31st year of the event.
Many devotees from nearby parts of Kazipet joined the festival.
Potarajus from Hyderabad performed traditional dances.
Women carried Bonalu offerings during a large procession.
Decorated bullock carts also joined the procession.
The procession visited several Pochamma temples before returning to Bapujinagar.
Organisers and police worked to keep the event peaceful.

The annual event entered its 31st year after continuing for three decades.
Devotees from Bapujinagar and surrounding areas attended the celebrations, held on the third Sunday of Shravan.
Potarajus from Hyderabad performed traditional dances during a procession from the Pochamma temple.
