GVMC Commissioner notices lapses in garbage disposal, takes action · thehansindia.com

GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg checked several parts of Visakhapatnam to see whether the city was being kept clean.

He looked at street sweeping, drinking-water delivery and garbage collection.

He found some sanitation problems and open garbage dumping.

He warned officials that careless work would not be tolerated.

He also told officials to make sure water was supplied on time and tested regularly.

Residents were asked to separate wet, dry and hazardous waste.

They should give the waste to GVMC collection vehicles instead of throwing it on roads or in drains.

Workers cleaned one badly affected area and made it look attractive with rangoli designs.
