India sold more goods and services to other countries in August than it did a year earlier.

Goods exports rose to $43.81 billion, growing at their fastest pace in a decade.

India also bought more goods, so it had a goods trade deficit of $26.86 billion.

When services were included, total exports reached $82.68 billion.

Total imports were higher at $92.09 billion, leaving an overall deficit of $9.41 billion.

Electronics, petroleum products and engineering goods helped increase exports.

From April through August, India’s combined exports reached $399.27 billion.

The United States was the biggest destination for Indian exports, while China was the largest source of imports.
