Study warns climate change threatens more than three-quarters of top surf breaks
Surfing waves form when the seafloor, tides and incoming swells line up in a particular way.
A study found that more than three-quarters of 57 famous surf breaks are at high risk as seas rise and coastlines change.
Sea walls and other coastal development can make it harder for beaches and waves to adjust.
Losing these waves could also affect communities that rely on surfing and tourism.
