Sevdam Karadeniz opens below Taşacak Bu Deniz’s debut ratings

NOW’s Sevdam Karadeniz opened with a 2.11 total rating, placing 14th in Turkey’s total audience rankings.

It also ranked 11th in the AB category and 10th in ABC1, two other audience groups used to measure television ratings.

The new series is being compared with TRT 1’s Taşacak Bu Deniz, which was seen as a rival despite airing on a different day.

Taşacak Bu Deniz began with a 3.87 total rating and ranked sixth, while it placed second in AB and ABC1.

Its ratings later climbed: it reached first place in all three categories by its third episode and recorded 16.29 in the total category by episode 10.

That earlier rise shows a weak debut does not rule out later growth, but Sevdam Karadeniz had a weaker start across all three categories.

Its second episode is expected to provide an early sign of whether it can gain viewers.

The show faces strong competition on Monday nights, including Altı Üstü İstanbul and Uzak Şehir.
