Myha’la says bias exists on The Celebrity Traitors but defends co-stars
Myha’la, an American actor, was voted out of the second series of The Celebrity Traitors, filmed in a castle in Scotland.
She was a Faithful, one of the players trying to identify the Traitors.
Before the vote, she winked at her friend Richard E Grant, who was a Traitor, and shared her suspicions with other players.
A fan said she had been banished because she is Black.
Myha’la said racial and cultural bias can shape who seems suspicious, especially when players are under pressure.
But she defended her fellow contestants, saying their decision in her case was not consciously based on her race.
Concerns about bias have followed The Traitors since it began in 2022, and Myha’la said the show should allow more discussion of it.

I do agree that unconscious racial and cultural bias exists in this game where my authenticity or honesty or the ways in which I choose to express myself look suspicious to people who are unfamiliar with people like me.
I’m not saying it’s right, I’m not saying racism doesn’t exist, but I do have to defend my dear friends on this show who in no way consciously put bias on me because of my race.
