Taylor Barnard joins new Fortescue Zero Racing Formula E team

British driver Taylor Barnard has secured a seat with Fortescue Zero Racing in Formula E. The team is entering the all-electric championship after DS Penske’s previous operation ended when the French manufacturer withdrew.

Fortescue, which provides the championship’s Pit Boost service, will compete under the Fortescue Zero Racing name and use Jaguar powertrains.

Barnard made his Formula E debut as a replacement driver in Season 10 and later earned a full-time seat.

He won his first race at the final event of his season with DS Penske, held in London.

His move ends uncertainty about his place in the championship, while Fortescue Zero Racing begins its first season with him as its first announced driver.

The team says it is building a new operation, and Barnard says he wants to help develop it and turn its ambitions into results.
