Italy repurposes lighthouse keepers’ quarters for tourism

Italy has restored former keepers’ quarters inside active lighthouses for new uses, including tourism.

The work is part of a wider effort to make public properties more useful to people.

Andreoli said small businesses helped create a network of lighthouse sites.

Some Navy bases also open to the public during events.
