INSEP withdraws youth basketball team after hazing allegations

INSEP is an elite French sports institute where young athletes train and live.

Officials say older basketball players allegedly assaulted recruits aged 15 and 16.

Ten players were provisionally suspended, and the federation withdrew the academy team from its league for the 2026–27 season.

The case has prompted an investigation and calls to better protect young athletes.
