Son Ho-young marks 20 years as a solo artist with new single
Son Ho-young is marking 20 years as a solo artist with “Go Around,” his first solo track in about five years.
The 46-year-old singer rose to fame as one of g.o.d, a popular South Korean boy band that debuted in 1999.
The group paused its activities after members went their separate ways in 2005, then reunited in 2014 and has continued performing.
Son says the song is about accepting that effort cannot solve everything, and that taking another route or allowing time to pass can sometimes help.
The message reflects his experience of spending years practising vocals while believing that more practice would always lead to improvement.
He will hold his first solo concert in five years on Oct.
31 and Nov.
1 at KBS Arena in western Seoul.
