Kremlin says Zelensky is not acting rationally and should join peace talks
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was in a state of hysteria and unable to make considered decisions.
He argued that Zelensky would be willing to hold peace talks with Moscow if he were acting rationally.
Russia has repeatedly said it is ready to negotiate, including at presidential level.
Zelensky has also said talks are possible, but says an agreement on a ceasefire must come first.
Moscow rejects a ceasefire during talks, saying it suspects Ukraine could use the pause to prepare for more fighting.
The day before Peskov’s remarks, US President Donald Trump criticized Zelensky and said Ukraine needed a new president ready to make a deal with Moscow.
