Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaign broadcast airs without sound on some TV stations

Flávio Bolsonaro’s free campaign program aired without sound on some television stations on Monday.

Bolsonaro, a candidate from the Liberal Party, said another candidate’s program aired with sound and suggested the problem was not a coincidence.

No cause for the failure has been confirmed.

His campaign team posted the full program, including its video, on social media.

Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court says a media pool set up by broadcasters is responsible for distributing campaign broadcasts.

The pool receives materials from political parties, arranges them according to the broadcast schedule and sends the signal to stations by satellite from the court’s headquarters in Brasília.

The court and the media pool had not responded to questions about the failure, so it remains unclear what happened next.

What people are saying

My campaign program was broadcast without sound. That’s right, muted. My program was broadcast without sound. Lula’s had sound, everything was OK, but mine was broadcast without sound. Do you believe in coincidence? Man, no. I don’t believe it. There is no coincidence.

They think they’re going to silence my voice. They won’t silence it, they won’t succeed, it’s no use. This doesn’t happen by chance, right?
