Flávio Bolsonaro says he will visit his father after visits are allowed again

Flávio Bolsonaro, a presidential candidate for the PL party, said he would visit his father, Jair Bolsonaro, on Tuesday.

It will be their first meeting in 90 days, after Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes suspended visits and then allowed them again on Monday.

Flávio made the announcement after attending a Mass honoring Our Lady of Aparecida at Brasília Cathedral.

He is evangelical, and his appearance came after controversy over his promise to declare Brazil a country of Jesus Christ if elected.

Some Catholics had worried about that promise, and false claims spread that he would remove Our Lady of Aparecida as Brazil’s patron saint.

The Mass was part of celebrations for the country’s patron saint.

Flávio did not say whether he would attend a Senate vote scheduled for Wednesday on ending the six-day-on, one-day-off work schedule.

What people are saying

I am very happy that Our Lady of Aparecida Day is the day I am once again authorized to visit my father, a victim of an injustice.
