New York City installs its first lamppost EV charger

Many New York drivers park on the street and cannot charge at home.

Voltpost has turned a streetlight pole into a Level 2 charger that can charge a car over several hours.

The cable lowers for use and retracts when charging ends.

If more are installed, they could make charging easier without building as many new stations.
