More than 30 actresses were considered for Katniss before Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence was not the only actress considered to play Katniss in The Hunger Games.

More than 30 actresses auditioned or met with the production in 2011.

Some were later known for other film and TV roles, including Shailene Woodley and Saoirse Ronan.

The casting choice helped shape a role that became closely linked with Lawrence.
