High interest rates remain industry’s biggest barrier to credit in Brazil
A CNI survey found that high interest rates were the biggest obstacle for industrial firms seeking loans.
About 76% of firms that struggled to get short- or medium-term credit cited interest rates, as did nearly 69% of those seeking long-term credit.
Requirements for guarantees, such as property, were the next most common barrier.
Among firms that sought credit, nearly one in four failed to get short- or medium-term loans, and more than one in three failed to get long-term loans.
