Pravin Tarde criticises Bollywood turnout at Nana Patekar’s funeral

Actor Nana Patekar died on October 8 after a cardiac arrest at his home in Goa.

He was laid to rest at his farmhouse in Pune with full state honours.

Marathi filmmaker and farmer Pravin Tarde said thousands of farmers attended the funeral procession.

He said their presence showed the respect Patekar had earned among farmers, a group he often identified with.

Tarde also said he expected more people from Bollywood, especially Patekar’s close friends, to attend.

Jackie Shroff and Suresh Wadkar were among those who came.

Tarde said Bollywood’s absence did not lessen Patekar’s greatness.
