Indian athletics coach provisionally suspended over alleged doping complicity

India’s anti-doping agency provisionally suspended coach Mohammad Yunus Khan over alleged complicity in an anti-doping rule violation.

Khan coaches middle- and long-distance runners at the Army Sports Institute in Pune.

The allegation is under a rule covering intentional help or involvement in doping, but the exact conduct alleged has not been disclosed.

Khan previously coached Gulveer Singh during his early years at the top level.

Singh has won three medals at the recent Asian Games, including silver in the 1,500 and 10,000 metres and bronze in the 5,000 metres.

He now trains mostly in Colorado Springs under coach Scott Simmons.

No further details or next steps in Khan’s case have been announced.
