Ryu Seung-ryong recalls the advice that encouraged him early in his film career

Ryu Seung-ryong’s first film role was a robber in the 2004 film Someone Special.

He said his appearance and deep voice limited the roles he was offered.

Director Lee Joon-ik encouraged him to keep working, saying that digging deeper would bring clear water.

The advice helped him through a time when he worried about being stuck in the same kinds of roles.
