Lucas Polese wins record number of votes in Espírito Santo

Lucas Polese was elected to Brazil’s federal Chamber of Deputies after winning 419,735 votes in Espírito Santo.

The article says that was a record for the state.

He built a political following online and campaigned without accepting party election funds.

Polese says his work in the state assembly also helped win voters’ support.
