Future Investment Initiative to go ahead in Riyadh on October 26-29

The Future Investment Initiative’s annual conference is still set to take place in Riyadh from October 26 to 29.

Organizers say preparations are continuing despite recent missile attacks on King Khalid International Airport.

The event was launched by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about a decade ago and is intended to be a leading investment conference in the kingdom.

Organizers expect senior executives, investors and officials to attend, including JPMorgan chief executive Jamie Dimon and Citi chief executive Jane Fraser.

They say safety measures will cover Riyadh’s airports, conference venues and official hotels, with transport arrangements for participants.

The attacks have disrupted flights, and Saudi Arabia says it has intercepted many ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis.

Organizers of another major event in Riyadh, the World Petroleum Congress, also say it will proceed as planned, while Italy’s energy minister plans to join a related meeting online.
