Tamil Nadu commission seeks report on alleged caste discrimination at burial

A 90-year-old Scheduled Caste man died in Perumbali village on October 5.

The State Commission says people from another community allegedly objected to his burial in the public cemetery and demanded that his relatives bow at their feet.

The Commission has asked district and police officials to report by October 30 and to take appropriate action.

It also wants to know whether officials who were present failed to prevent the incident.
