Strata Minerals reports 42,000-ounce maiden resource at Zelica

Strata Minerals has set out a first gold resource estimate for its Zelica project in Western Australia.

The estimate is 814,000 tonnes grading 1.61 grams of gold per tonne, equivalent to 42,000 ounces.

About 68% of the resource is classified as indicated, a higher-confidence category than inferred, while the rest is inferred.

Zelica is on a granted mining lease in the Yundamindra district, between Leonora and Laverton, where earlier mining left a shallow pit.

The estimate gives the company a defined basis for mine-planning studies, but it does not mean a mine has been approved or will be built.

Strata has a mining services and profit-share agreement with BML Ventures, but mining services depend on an agreed mine plan, budget and tolling agreement.

The resource remains open at depth and along strike, and Strata says further drilling will target several zones as exploration continues.

With our BML Ventures Mining Services and Profit Share Agreement in place, we have a pathway to rapidly advance potential mining options while continuing to grow the resource
