Paladin reports 1 million pounds of uranium output in FY2027 first quarter

Paladin Energy produced 1 million pounds of uranium at its Langer Heinrich mine in the first quarter of FY2027.

It sold 1.16 million pounds at an average price of US$79.4 per pound, while its production cost was US$61.6 per pound.

Production was down from 1.23 million pounds in the previous quarter, which the company said was affected by a shutdown and a transition in the mine pit.

Paladin kept its annual target at 5.1 million to 5.6 million pounds and expects production to rise in the second half of the financial year.

The company says mining higher-grade ore should help increase output, and it is also targeting lower costs and better productivity.

In Canada, agreements advanced permitting work for Paladin’s Patterson Lake South uranium project, while drilling extended known mineralisation and found new high-grade zones for follow-up.

Paladin had US$209 million in cash and investments at quarter-end, and plans to continue work on the Canadian project and exploration.
