Fire Country Season 5 Opens With a Sinkhole Disaster in Edgewater
Fire Country is a CBS drama about firefighters in the town of Edgewater.
Its fifth season opens during the town’s Founder’s Day celebration, when a sinkhole opens and residents are trapped.
Bode and the firefighters respond to the emergency as the town’s fire department faces pressure from covering a wider area with too little support.
The premiere builds its story around this single disaster, bringing the characters together to help those in danger.
The show has often followed several emergencies and personal storylines at once, which has made Edgewater feel crowded.
Focusing on one major event gives the characters’ teamwork more room to stand out.
The premiere also introduces storylines that are expected to continue through the season.
