Sarah Abo reportedly in talks to join Seven’s Melbourne news team
Sarah Abo, a former presenter of Nine’s Today show, has reportedly held talks with rival network Seven about joining its Melbourne news team.
She is being considered as a possible successor to long-time newsreader Peter Mitchell, or as a co-anchor alongside him.
Abo is expected to remain on Nine’s payroll until the end of the year, but her departure agreement reportedly lets her negotiate with other networks before then.
The discussions follow her departure from Nine, which came after tensions reportedly grew over her support for former co-host Karl Stefanovic.
Seven veteran Mike Amor was also reportedly told he would not take over the main Melbourne bulletin in the immediate future.
