Mexico urges citizens in Saudi Arabia to take precautions after missile attack

Mexico’s Foreign Ministry has urged Mexicans in Saudi Arabia to take extra precautions after a new missile-related incident.

A projectile hit Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and caused a fire.

Saudi-led coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said air defenses intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile near the airport, but did not say who was responsible.

The Houthis have not claimed the attack, and the extent of the damage and whether anyone was hurt remain unknown.

The incident followed a Saturday attack that killed at least 12 people and injured 309, according to the account.

Mexico advised its citizens to avoid areas near airports in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, follow official updates and seek shelter when alerted to a possible attack.

It also urged them to check flights with airlines and airports and keep travel documents current.
