Some Melbourne Cup Birdcage marquees open to ticket buyers

The Birdcage is a group of marquees at Flemington racecourse during Melbourne Cup week.

Crown and Asahi will sell tickets for access to some areas, but keep other spaces for invited guests.

Tickets cost $895 to $2,195 for Crown and $1,595 for Club Asahi.

Selling entry may help brands cover the high cost of running a marquee.
