Knicks delay contract talks with Towns and Hart before title defense

The Knicks have delayed talks about new contracts with three players, including stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart.

The team says it is focusing on preparing for the season.

Owner James Dolan has said he wants to avoid the NBA’s highest payroll penalties.

The delay leaves the players’ future with the team uncertain.
