Baskonia reportedly offers former NBA center Christian Koloko a contract

Spanish club Baskonia has reportedly offered a contract to Christian Koloko, a 26-year-old center from Cameroon.

The offer follows his release by the New Orleans Pelicans, who had signed him for training camp.

Koloko has played 122 NBA games for the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks.

He has not yet played professional basketball in Europe.

Baskonia, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, is doing well in Spain’s domestic league but has started the EuroLeague season with a 1–3 record.

The club is seeking to strengthen its frontcourt, and Koloko is known for his defense near the basket.

If he joins, his status under the Cotonou Agreement would let Baskonia register him as a local player in Spain’s domestic league.
