Golfer Tests How McIlroy’s Tee Shots Change a Round

A 3-handicap golfer set out to see whether he could break par with Rory McIlroy’s tee-shot advantage.

He played at Peterborough Milton Golf Club in England, using McIlroy’s 2026 PGA Tour statistics to choose where his tee shots would finish.

Those statistics included an average drive of 330 yards, along with the chances of hitting the fairway or missing it to either side.

The golfer randomized the landing spots and also used McIlroy’s approach-shot statistics to set up the par-three holes.

Starting much closer to the greens gave him a major advantage, including a 7-iron second shot on a long par five.

But shorter approach shots often left him with tricky pitches and long birdie putts, and he made four birdies.

The story does not state his final score; it says the result is shown in a video.
